Stepping Up EU-Turkey Cooperation on Migration Management and Counter-Terrorism

The conference “Stepping up EU-Turkey cooperation on support of refugees and migration management and on counter- terrorism” took place on 16 November 2015, just a few days following the tragic terrorist attacks in Paris on 13 November. The conference brough together a variety of experts to share their analysis and insights of the critically important policy issues that were the focus of intense scrutiny in the international media in the wake of the attacks. These experts discussed several isues under three panels on “The Impact of the Conflict in Syria and Iraq on EU-Turkey Relations”, “ Cooperating in Support of Refugees and Migration Management Session”, and “Cooperating on Counter-Terrorism”. The importance Turkey’s efforts and the need to cooperate with Turkey more closely in order to deal with these questions were highlighted in the event.
