ORSAM-BİLKENT JOINT MEETING: KYRGYZSTAN

ORSAM and Bilkent University carried out a closed meeting entitled, “The 20th Anniversary of the Independence of Kyrgyzstan and Turkish-Kyrgyz Relations” in Ankara, on December 13th 2011.  Kyrgyzstan's Ambassador to Ankara Ermek Ibraimov made the opening speech of the meeting, in   which participants from various universities and different organizations took part. Following the opening speech of the Ambassador, ORSAM Eurasian Strategies Coordinator and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Karasar from Bilkent University made their opening statements. During the meeting, ORSAM Director Hasan Kanbolat, Prof. Dr. Hayati Aktaş (Black Sea Technical University – KTÜ), Dr. Konuralp Ercilasun (Gazi University), Dr. Anar Kayırbekkızı (Hacettepe University), Zamir Malashev (MEB Kyrgyzstan Student Representative), Zamir Manasov (METU Doctoral Student), Selda Özdenoğlu (TIKA), Dr. Fırat Purtaş (TURKSOY), Dr. Tümen Somuncuoğlu (Gazi University), Dr. Tuğba Evrim Maden (ORSAM) and Dr. Zhildiz Uzakova (Embassy of Kyrgyzstan) made presentations.        

During the meeting, the participants exchanged their opinions on regional subjects, and especially on the cooperation possibilities between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
